By Aston Villa FC

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has been nominated for the inaugural Premier League Young Player of the Season award and voting is now open!

Grealish enjoyed a brilliant campaign as Villa made their return to the top flight of English football, scoring eight times and recording six assists in 36 appearances, while his dribbling ability attracted rave reviews.

After brilliant strikes against the likes of Manchester United, Burnley and Brighton, Grealish went on to score the goal that effectively secured Premier League safety at West Ham United on the final day of the season.

The award – which is new for 2019/20 – will go to the best player aged 23 or younger when the season began.

To determine the winner, a supporters’ vote will be combined with choices from a panel of experts.
