Tyrone Mings and his Aston Villa team-mates are well aware their win over Arsenal will count for little if they don’t secure a similar result at West Ham United on Sunday.

Trezeguet’s 27th-minute strike at Villa Park sealed the three points that lifted Dean Smith’s side out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Mings, who provided the assist for the winner on the night, knows that another positive performance is imperative at London Stadium.

He said: “We knew what was required and we know that we’re at the stage of the season where only a win will do.

“We are nowhere near out of the woods yet, but we have given ourselves a good chance.

“We have to go and replicate this at the weekend, because complacency can be a killer, and we still have a huge task.

“Tuesday night means nothing if we don’t finish the job at the weekend.”

Trezeguet has made the difference in back-to-back wins at Villa Park, with his goal on Tuesday following on from the brace which beat Crystal Palace.

After the full-time whistle, Mings was full of praise for the Egyptian.

“He’s an important player for us, as he’s showed in the past few weeks," added the influential centre-back.

“Sometimes you need that spark and he’s been brilliant.”
