Aston Villa Women are excited to announce the signing of Portugal international Diana Silva from Sporting CP.
The 25-year-old forward becomes Gemma Davies’ third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Chloë Arthur and Anita Asante from Birmingham City and Chelsea respectively.
Silva has 58 caps for her country, and her new Head Coach is excited to see the striker in action in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Davies said: “We’re very excited about Diana. She’s a young, energetic forward who’s very technical and likes to drive at players 1v1.
“We’ve picked up a young talent who’s been doing very well with her national team and scoring goals.
“We’ve been monitoring her progress since before lockdown and we’re really excited that she’s finally an Aston Villa player.”
