A number of club legends have been checking in on elderly fans recently, thanks to the Aston Villa Former Players Club.
Former players including Ken McNaught, Tony Morley, Gordon Cowans, Ian Taylor, Tony Daley, Shaun Teale, Nigel Spink, Andy Blair, Des Bremner, Pat Heard, Kenny Swain and Dennis Mortimer have been busy contacting elderly Season Ticket Holders over the course of the last week.
The former players have been phoning around fans in an effort to address loneliness during the lockdown enforced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club has over 250 Season Ticket Holders aged 80+ and most of them have been contacted by the ex-Villans.
Led by McNaught, Aston Villa Former Players Club have formed in order to help players that have fallen on hard times.
Some players bear the physical scars of giving their all in claret and blue, and they want to contribute where we can to help improve the lives of these heroes.
The Former Players Club offer medical assistance, educational support, or guidance and care in any way they can.
Brian Little has also been contacting regular attendees of the Aston Villa Foundation’s Dementia Café.
The Café launched in November and had been providing activities, quizzes, refreshments, conversation and reminisce activities for those suffering with dementia before it was forced to close when lockdown began.
