There were plenty of claret and blue words of wisdom following the final whistle at Wembley.

Villa emerged victorious 2-1 in an epic FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool.

Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph did the damage but there was an unbelievable support cast, including Jack Grealish, Charles N'Zogbia, Ron Vlaar and Ashley Westwood to name but four.

Our players, coaches and staff were quizzed in the media 'mixed zone' after the victory - and also gave their views via social media channels.

You can check out some of their thoughts below.

SHAY GIVEN

It's my birthday on Monday and this is a special present.

No money can buy you that feeling at the end of the game. Nobody can get you that for a birthday present.

I said during the week it would be a great present if we won so I'm delighted.

The FA Cup is made of dreams. For us as players and fans, we dreamed we could and we probably showed to a few neutrals that we are a good team and we deserve to be in the final.

But we haven't won anything yet. It's only the semi-final and we'll be in the final come the end of May.

We've got a few weeks to build up to that.

It's great excitement for the fans, great excitement for the players and the manager as well but we want to go on and pick up the trophy.

We know it's going to be difficult. Arsenal are a great team but we want to go there and try and win the trophy.

TIM SHERWOOD

It was a great day for the football club.

Obviously nothing is won yet. But not a lot of people gave us a chance coming here, playing against Liverpool.

But we believed it and when we stepped out on to the pitch we realised our fans believed it as well.

That meant an awful lot to us.

They were magnificent - especially when we went behind. They dragged us back into the game.

We got back into it six minutes after with Christian's fantastic goal. Then I thought we dominated the football match after that.

We caused them a lot of problems.

Delph

FABIAN DELPH

I can't wait for the final.

To walk out as captain will be the highlight of my career.

It's such happy days. I am absolutely delighted for the boys - and the fans.

It was a great performance. We were confident going into the game. We felt we could win.

We are thrilled for the fans and the club. It's huge.

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE

We can ALL (players, supporters) be happy of what we did.

We deserved our qualification.

Well done boys!!

Grealish

JACK GREALISH

That was the best feeling of my life. What a game.

Words can't express what this means to me.

THOMAS HITZLSPERGER

Proud of this Villa team!

Can't wait to watch you lift the FA Cup trophy!

Unbelievable atmosphere!

DAVID CAMERON

Congratulations to Aston Villa on reaching the FA Cup final.

A tremendous achievement.

JAMIE REDKNAPP

Aston Villa deserved their victory and there were two players at the heart of it all.

Jack Grealish was fantastic but Fabian Delph was the best player on the pitch.

On Saturday, I said the battle with Jordan Henderson would be key to this game. There's no doubt who won that one.

Delph was different class. He put in an all-action display and ran the match.

He looked like the player we all felt he could become when he was at Leeds. He was outstanding.

As for Grealish, in his first game at Wembley, he was magnificent.

JOE COLE

It will be a tough game because Arsenal have been brilliant.

They're a top side and Arsene Wenger's really turned it around for them.

They want to put another bit of silverware on the table.

It's going to be tough, no doubt, but it we play like we did this weekend and last week in the 1-0 win against Tottenham then we'll be all right.

The fans have really bought into what the gaffer's doing and there's a good, positive vibe around the club now.

TOM CLEVERLEY

It's still not sunk in. I am absolutely buzzing.

I am so, so proud of everyone.

It was a fantastic day for the players - and for the fans.

TOM FOX

This is something which can create a positive atmosphere.

If we play the way we played against Liverpool I think we'll have a chance.

It's all about pride and I sat there at the end of the game and I was incredibly proud of the effort the players put in - and for the supporters.
