Foundation and Environment

The Aston Villa Foundation is the club’s official charity and the banner under which community work and social responsibility activities are undertaken.

The Aston Villa Foundation mission statement is "Working together to enrich lives”.

This sees the Foundation work with a range of partners and stakeholders – including the Aston Villa fan base, to provide a range of projects, initiatives and opportunities for the community around Villa Park and the wider Aston Villa family.

The Foundation has several departments that deliver projects and initiatives in Birmingham and surrounding areas:

  • Schools
  • Football in the Community
  • Young people
  • Disability
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Education and learning
  • Interventions
  • Community relations

Under the banner of ‘community relations’, the Foundation coordinates Aston Villa’s “Supporting Our Own” scheme.

Supporting Our Own sees both the club and foundation supporting local community groups and organisations with grants and training opportunities, recognising local volunteers for fundraising support and connecting the club more effectively with local residents.

Charitable Donations Policy

Aston Villa Football Club receives a large number of requests for charitable support, with all requests being managed by the Aston Villa Foundation.

In 2022/23 the Foundation will continue develop relationships and strive to support the needs of the local community through a broad and diverse range of good causes to reflect the many organisations and people in our locally.

The club has two official charity partners in Acorns and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Due to the volume of requests that the club receives, unfortunately we are unable to support all requests, or to directly support charities financially.

Environmental Sustainability

As part of the broader corporate social responsibility functions of the club, Aston Villa is in the process of developing and environmental strategy in order to reduce our carbon footprint and become a more environmentally conscious organisation. For more information on the development of the strategy and our ‘Claret, Blue and Green’ pledge, please email sustainability@avfc.co.uk
