Head of Coach Development 

Hours of work: Full time, including evenings and weekends
Salary: Competitive 

Aston Villa Football Club have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic individual to take forward the Coaching Development provision across the entire Academy Department at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. 

Working closely with the Academy Manager and Head of Technical and Player Development, you will develop the Academy coaching philosophy, playing philosophy and coaching programme, with a view to driving forward the overall development of our Academy Players. 

The successful postholder will be responsible for completing a Training Needs Analysis for all coaches and ensuring all session plans and evaluations are carried out in line with the Coaching Programme.  

The successful candidate must hold a UEFA A Licence and a FA Youth Advanced Award. 

You will also need to have proven experience of working as a Coach Developer in the professional academy system and ideally, experience working as a Head of Coach Development in a Category 1 Academy.

Customer Support Executive    

(35 hours per week, Including Matchdays, Evenings & Weekends) 
Salary: £19,000 - £21,000 per annum depending on experience  

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Support Executive to work within our Ticketing Team, based at Villa Park. 

The role will be first line support to help communicate 1-to-1 with fans, helping meet their needs and the needs of the club, while keeping in line with our overall communications and social media strategies.  

The ideal candidate will use exceptional communication skills to brief in-house teams on a regular basis.  

Monitoring all social media and channels, you’ll alert relevant stakeholders of potential threats and opportunities that might arise through social media channels as well as assisting with ongoing community management.  

You will be able to demonstrate writing capabilities and creative thinking through previous support work. 

Within this role, you’ll be working on a variety of projects simultaneously and meeting tight response deadlines, so being able to self-manage is essential. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Social media & general customer support for all club channels/touchpoints
  • Supporting existing team with ticket sales, membership queries, rewards programme, website and customer login support
  • Activate and keep active all channels with timely, appropriate advice and direction
  • Manage analytics and reports per channel
  • Reporting to senior managers, the role will be responsible for the support and delivery of the club’s digital and social media channels
  • Working with AVTV & Editorial colleagues for tone of voice, quality and effectiveness
  • Working within the marketing and communications department
  • You will work across all platforms of the club - website, social media channels
  • You will also assist with our extensive matchday coverage, from tweeting direct to fans on a one to one basis
  • Monitoring of all social media channels and ongoing community management 

Key skills and experience required: 

  • Graduate level qualification
  • Experience of working within a social media environment 
  • Knowledge of media channels and best industry practice
  • Communication, relationship building, and networking skills is essential 
  • Football knowledge is desirable 
  • Highly efficient and organised with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Work flexible hours as the club requires, this will include matchday working evenings and weekends

Former Players Club Fundraising Officer 

£15,000 per annum (12 month Fixed Term Contract - 21 hours per week, including Evenings & Weekends)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Former Players Club Fundraising Officer to work within our Former Players Club based at Villa Park. The Former Players Fundraising Officer will lead on developing a fundraising strategy that enables the Former Players Club to operate financially independent of Aston Villa Football Club and provide benevolent support to former players.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile a calendar of fundraising events and activity that generate income for the Aston Villa Former Players Club and the Former Players Benevolent Fund
• Lead on the planning and delivery of fundraising events and activities, including health and safety processes, safeguarding, staffing, stakeholder engagement, marketing and promotion
• Accurate and transparent management of income and expenditure in line with Aston Villa financial processes and procedures
• Liaising with internal departments including the partnerships team, media and content and hospitality team to ensure Former Players Club events and activity align with Aston Villa Football Club objectives
• Liaison with the Former Players Club Liaison Officer to ensure appropriate support from former players at events and activities
• Work alongside the Aston Villa Foundation Fundraising and Events Officer to ensure coordination and a joined-up approach to fundraising activity
• To undertake any other works as could be reasonably expected of a Fundraising Officer

Key skills and experience required:

• A proven track record of successful fundraising activities and events
• Proven administration Experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Overseeing fundraising and community events
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of events
• Ability to network and build relationships with external stakeholders
• Strong written skills
• Experience of financial planning and managing budgets
• Relevant experience in marketing and promoting successful events
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate others
• Knowledge of Safeguarding and health and safety risk management
