Senior Professional Development Phase Coach

Hours of work: Full-Time

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Professional Development Phase Coach to join our Academy Department at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic individual who will be responsible for the management of the U23 team in respect of all league, cup and friendly fixtures, and lead on the design and delivery of the U23’s daily coaching programme.

The successful postholder will plan, organise and deliver in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team all aspects of the U23s development programme. The postholder will also liaise and provide relevant information to the Club’s Sporting Director, First Team Head Coach and Academy Manager.

On a daily basis, you will liaise with the First Team and Professional Development Phase coaching staff on player progression and management of both training and game opportunities. This post will lead on the delivery of the technical and tactical development programme for the U23 squad in line with the Academy Playing and Position Specific Philosophy, and provide feedback to players both formally through the PMA, individual meetings, 6-week reviews and where appropriate parents and intermediaries.

As a minimum requirement, you will need to hold a UEFA A Licence, FA Advanced Youth Award and ideally, UEFA Pro Licence Qualification. You will also need an up to date BFAS Qualification and be a Member of the FA Licenced Coaches’ Club.

Experience of working in a similar role within a Category 1 or 2 Academy is required for this post with additional experience of working at First Team Level desired. You would ideally have knowledge of the FA and Premier League Rules and Regulations with regards to Academies and hold a Clean Driving Licence.

You will also need to be flexible as this role will require working evenings and weekends, and you should ideally hold a full clean driving licence.For further information please see the attached Role Profile.

Fan Squad Members

(Variable Hours, including First Team Home Matchdays, Evenings & Weekends)

We have an exciting opportunity for Fan Squad Members. Your primary role is to ensure all fans feel welcomed and have an amazing experience whenever they visit Villa Park on a Matchday or interact with the Club at other events. Primarily working under the marketing manager, the Fan Squad support the entire Club in creating a great fan experience.

Fan Squad are a vital part of our fan engagement on matchday. As our brand ambassadors, you will be the face of Aston Villa Football Club to fans.

You will be running activation in our Fan Zones or VIP events to welcoming fans around the stadium and troubleshooting inside our concourses. Fan Squad have an important and exciting, varied and flexible role for Aston Villa Football Club.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for running experiential activations on matchday at Villa Park, for example the set-up/management/running/pack down of our Fan Zones
• Liaising with fans at all forms of events to welcome/direct/advise/support wherever needed to improve fan experience
• Promoting the Aston Villa brand at external events, running data capture competitions or ticket selling campaigns
• Overseeing and being responsible for logistical planning/prep/set-up and Health & Safety elements of activities you are working on
• Working to create a positive, enthusiastic and energetic environment for fans and within the Fan Squad team itself

Women’s Football Media and Marketing Officer

Aston Villa Women’s team is seeking a Media and Marketing Officer producing engaging and innovative content for the club’s official channels.

The post holder will be working within the content team to produce informative and entertaining material for the club’s social media channels, website and matchday programmes, as well as producing and executing the Aston Villa Women’s annual marketing plan.

This role includes reporting on home and away women’s games, including pre-match interviews, live match updates, publication of match images, match reports and post-match reaction from players and staff.

Essential skills and experiences required:

• Experience working in media and content creation field, with a track record of delivering high quality content
• Clear understanding of the digital media landscape, with experience of social media, content management systems and search engine optimisation (SEO)
• A strong understanding of football and the women’s game
• Experience of using video editing packages (e.g. Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier Pro)

Intervention Coach (Working with Young Women)

The Intervention coach will set up and lead a programme of activities taking place during the evenings and weekends for young women across our local community projects, including the Premier League Kicks project.

You will have experience of working with young females aged 11-19, engaging them in a range of physical activity or physical arts programmes, acting as a role model and mentor to engage and empower young females in the local community.

Business Support Administrator

We are seeking a full-time Business Support Administrator that will provide back-office support to a large team of full-time staff within the Aston Villa Foundation.

The post-holder will be a first line of enquiry for the Foundation for email and phone contact, as well as supporting the staff team with the coordination of facility diaries, financial processes and procedures, staff timesheets, kit and equipment. Alongside the back-office functions, the Business Support Administrator will also support the organisation of various Foundation events, including supporting matchday events, club signings and content days.

• A track record of successfully executing a range of administrative responsibilities in an office environment

Villa Vision Project Manager (Optometrist)

The Aston Villa Foundation is seeking a qualified Optometrist to oversee an innovative new project funded by the Premier League and PFA.

Working alongside Aston University, the Villa Vision Project Manager will oversee a project that delivers free eye screenings and tests to children in inner-city schools, providing free glasses to those who need them. The role will include overseeing a programme of volunteering amongst undergraduate optometrists, as well as working alongside the Schools Manager to plan and coordinate a timetable of delivery in schools, and to create an exciting classroom curriculum, designed to increase awareness around eye-health amongst children and young people in Birmingham.

Essential skills and experiences required:

• Must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Hold a minimum 2:1 BSc or equivalent in a GOC-approved optometry course
• An interest in football, sport and physical activity
• An ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team, and to give leadership and direction to others

Neighbourhood Engagement Officer

The Aston Villa Foundation is seeking someone with a strong background in community relationships and community development, for the brand-new position of Neighbourhood Engagement Officer (NEO).

Funded by the Premier League and the PFA, the NEO will be responsible for strengthening relationships between the Foundation and local community leaders, groups and organisations. The post-holder will actively seek new opportunities for partnership working, social action projects and leading on helping local charity and not-for-profit organisations with their own infrastructure development and capacity building goals.

Football in the Community/Schools Coach

(Various Hours, Daytime, Evening and Weekends)
Salary £13.00 per hour to £16.71 per hour

The Aston Villa Foundation have several vacancies for part-time football and sport coaches. We are seeking sessional staff to support our football in the community coaching activities (including coaching clinics, Saturday clubs and holiday courses), as well as staff to support our delivery in schools in both PE lessons and delivering educational activities across the national curriculum.

Coaches would need to have regular and consistent availability during daytime, evenings and weekends.

Essential skills and experiences required:

• Minimum FA Level Two coaching qualification
• Additional sports coaching qualifications and advantage
• Recognised and up to date First Aid and safeguarding qualifications
• Experience of working in a paid football coaching capacity
