Grant Holt admits it will be a "weird" scenario when he lines up against his old Norwich pals this afternoon.
But the on-loan striker is refusing to get caught up in the hyperbole surrounding his reunion with the Canaries.
Holt will come up against Norwich for the first time since his summer departure when Chris Hughton brings his team to Villa Park this weekend.
The 32-year-old, though, is unfazed by the prospect of going into battle against some of his old Carrow Road colleagues with whom he enjoyed four successful years.
Villa's Barclays Premier League progress is his primary concern.
"It is a game for me that will be weird but definitely one I want to win," said Holt, who scored 78 goals in 168 games for Norwich.
"I want Villa to keep progressing and I want them to do well.
"I think a lot of people on the outside make more of it than it is.
"But, to anyone who knows the gaffer, it doesn't matter who it is, he wants to win every game he is involved in.
"We haven't prepared for it any differently because it's Norwich. We've prepared for it exactly the same.
"To be fair, there is only me, the gaffer and Ian Culverhouse that have got those ties."
Holt didn't expect his Norwich reunion to come around so quickly.
He swapped East Anglia for Wigan in the summer before Villa snapped him up on a temporary basis in January.
"I didn't think I'd be playing Norwich as soon as I am but it is just another game," Holt added.
"It is a game we need to win and get three points to keep progressing in the league.
"I've never been bothered about playing against my friends.
"I've always enjoyed it and I don't treat them any differently to playing against anyone else.
"It is at the end when you come off and shake hands and probably have a cuddle and say 'thanks for that'."
