From Darren Bent signing, Gerard Houllier leaving, Alex McLeish joining and Ron Saunders returning, it's all here.

The capture of Bent was the most amazing moment of the year, undoubtedly, with the star striker putting pen to paper on a four-year deal in claret and blue in January.

Bent Mania hit Villa Park, with shirts flying out the shop and tickets selling fast for his debut match against Manchester City.

He scored in that one, of course, to send the Villa faithful into raptures.

In the end, he scored nine in sixteen games to help Villa climb the top-flight table into ninth.

Other standout moments included the return of former boss Saunders after a self-imposed exile from the ground for five years.

Saunders granted AVTV an extremely rare interview where he discussed his time at the club and his backing for new boss McLeish, who had been appointed some weeks before.

It was great to see one of our greatest-ever bosses looking so fit, with that stern swagger still very much in evidence.

Other positive moments included screaming fans serenading Darren Bent at the international kit launch in Hong Kong, Take That performing over two nights at Villa Park, Villa's 1982 European Cup winners being inducted into the Hall of Fame, William McGregor's grave being re-dedicated on the 100th anniversary of his death and Marc Albrighton bagging the 20,00th Premier League goal.

As we get set for the turn of the year, here's to more great moments in 2012!
