Bio
Morgan Sanson joined Aston Villa from Marseille in January 2021, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal at Villa Park.
Sanson made his debut for the club off the bench against West Ham United before his first start came against Wolves. He racked up nine appearances in 2020/21 before his season came to an end due to injury.
Shortly after scoring his first goal for Villa, the Frenchman headed to Strasbourg on loan in January 2023. He made 18 appearances as they finished 15th in Ligue 1.
The midfielder enjoyed the best spell of his career to date at OM, making 157 appearances for the club and scoring 25 goals. Sanson picked up a Europa League runners-up medal and featured in the Champions League during his time with Marseille.
A player who is known for enjoying both the attacking and defensive sides of the game, Sanson began his career at Le Mans before moving to Montpellier. He has also accrued 11 caps for France Under-21s.
