Johan Manzambi, Nicolas Jackson and Emi Buendía were on target as Aston Villa saw off Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 to record their first Premier League victory of the season.
The trio each netted their maiden league goals of the campaign in the lunchtime kick-off in the capital, ensuring Villa head into the extended international break on the back of three wins from four in all competitions.
The visitors were indebted to a string of fine saves from Zion Suzuki to deny Savio, on three occasions, and Archie Gray, before Manzambi marked his full debut by opening the scoring from close range in first-half injury time.
Jackson added a well-taken second from the edge of the area in the 67th minute, latching on to an assist from fellow summer signing Manzambi following a direct ball from Suzuki.
Buendía then put the icing on the cake with a sublime finish into the top corner from 25 yards – his fourth goal against Tottenham in four successive encounters.
Conor Gallagher found the net late on to deny the Villans a clean sheet, before Jan Paul van Hecke headed in deep into added time, but Unai Emery’s side collected all three points in north London.
Villa have now won eight of their last 11 meetings with Spurs in all competitions, including five of their previous six trips to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

João Gomes returned to Villa’s starting XI having served his three-match suspension, as Emery made seven changes from Wednesday’s Carabao Cup triumph at Coventry City.
One of those returning, Suzuki, made an impressive double save to twice deny Savio from inside the area after 11 minutes.
Manzambi tested Antonin Kinsky from long range at the other end, but it was Suzuki who was in inspired form in the opening quarter.
The Japan international ‘keeper thwarted Spurs substitute Gray with his legs, before parrying away a super volley by Savio from the subsequent corner.
Buendía forced a save from Kinsky in the 27th minute before Jackson pulled an effort wide.
Following a free-flowing opening half-an-hour, clear-cut opportunities were few and far between until Manzambi broke the deadlock in first-half injury time.
Tottenham left-back Andy Robertson prevented the ball from going out for a corner but John McGinn was on hand to pick up possession, the skipper played a pass inside for Boubacar Kamara, who slid in Manzambi and he found the net from inside the six-yard box for his first goal in claret and blue.
Matty Cash was introduced at half-time as both sides battled for the crucial second goal in the game.
The hosts thought they had it on the hour mark as Mohammed Kudus found the net from close range, only for Robertson to be deemed offside in the build-up following a VAR review.
Yet it was Villa who doubled their advantage as Jackson latched on to Suzuki’s long ball and found Manzambi, who laid the ball back into the path of the striker to take a fantastic touch before finding the far corner.
Sandro Tonali curled wide from distance before Buendía made it 3-0, receiving the ball from McGinn and curling a fantastic effort into the top corner from distance.
The Villans were denied a clean sheet when Gallagher converted for the hosts in the 86th minute.
Van Hecke then found the net with a far-post header in the eighth minute of added time, but the Villans claimed the spoils to ensure it is now just one defeat in five matches in all competitions.
