Villa Park played host to Gallagher PREM action on Saturday afternoon, as supporters of both Gloucester Rugby and Leicester Tigers flocked to B6.

The fixture, held over football’s international break, formed part of the rugby top flight’s ‘Big Game’ weekend, which saw Gloucester join both Bristol and Saracens in hosting fixtures away from their home stadiums.

The two sides locked horns for the Slater Cup, named after former Gloucester and Leicester lock Ed Slater who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in July 2022, with the prize contested between the two teams every season.

The game saw Leicester triumph 36-17 in front of a crowd of over 24,000 at Villa Park, to retain the trophy.
