Aston Villa supporters celebrated the achievements of Unai Emery during another memorable pre-match display ahead of our UEFA Europa League tie against LOSC Lille.
Villa Park was once again shown in all its glory as it hosted a special fan presentation ahead of kick-off in honour of Emery’s remarkable record at the helm.
The Villa manager secured his 100th victory for the club with last week’s 1-0 first leg success in northern France, making him only the third Villa boss to attain the magical figure - following in the footsteps of Joe Mercer and Ron Saunders.
And the Spaniard has reached the landmark much faster than either of his predecessors, doing so in just three years and four months (181 matches).
As Villa and Lille took to the hallowed turf for our eagerly-anticipated Round of 16 second leg under the lights, supporters held up special claret and blue cards in tribute.
The stunning display went around all four stands at Villa Park, with the Holte End proudly displaying ‘Emery 100’ in recognition of his century.
The display came together with Villa Park’s spectacular pre-match show across big screens, lights, flames, fireworks and pyrotechnics.
Here’s to you, Unai Emery, and UTV!
