The Aston Villa Fan Advisory Board held its latest meeting at Villa Park earlier this month.

The Fan Advisory Board (FAB) gathered on Tuesday, January 13 as a wide range of topics were once again discussed with the group of key stakeholders. It follows the inaugural get-together in August, October's second meeting, and last month's latest meeting and website launch.

The FAB, formed following an extensive process conducted by the club in conjunction with the FSA (Football Supporters' Association) and the Premier League, is the primary vehicle of consultation with our supporters.

The fan board submitted a detailed list of questions to the club in advance of the meeting, to which the club in-turn provided written responses from across departments ahead of the meeting.

You can find both the minutes and the FAB's questions from the meeting below.

Fan Advisory Board Q&A

General Logistics

If sticking with the 6 week schedule, we propose the following dates fixture-permitting: Tuesday, 3rd March, Tuesday, 14th April, Tuesday 26th May.

FAB Operations

We are actively working towards scheduling these. The Culture group has a meeting in the diary for Monday 26th January, the Accessibility group requires a pre-meeting between Joanne McKibbens and Laura Wright (DAO) to establish the working perameters and membership of this group (this will take place in the coming weeks).

SLO needs to follow up on some actions for Sarah Breslin with contacting previous expressions of interest for the Women's group and we can then kick that off within the next few weeks.

SLO suggestion is that these meetings then take place half way between each main FAB meeting on a similar six week rolling basis.

We are happy to utilise the matchday programme to help promote the FAB. Moving forward, we'll publish meeting notes within the matchday programme and look at including a QR code within that article (which will ideally be the next home game following the meeting depending on programme print deadlines).

As a reminder, the FAB minutes are always uploaded on to the official club website under the FAB section and the Q&A as a web article on the main site which we feel is more than adequate.

Last season the club had to submit the report following the final game of the season at the end of May. The FAB activity report forms a small part of the wider Fan Engagement Standard report which the club must submit. There is a template provided by the Premier League pertaining to the Fan Engagement Standard which we have to follow.

There is a section specifically relating to the FAB which will include a survey of all FAB members where you will be asked to individually and anonymously to report back on your experiences of FAB-related activites throught the current season.

SLO will also liaise with Extended Network Groups as there will be specific sections on that to show the wider-scope of the fan engagement activity throughout the season.

Yes, we are happy to set dates for the remainder of the season. We need to meet with the existing stakeholders who use the Holte Pub on matchdays to get a clearer understanding of availability.

Once we have this, we can then provide specific dates and promote the FAB clinics accordingly. We would also like to discuss a FAB coffee morning idea and will do so in AOB of the upcoming meeting.

The club would much prefer the FAB to select their own ambassador but are happy to arrange meetings with the likes of James Chester, Ian Taylor, Brian Little or other former players they would like to meet.

It's important to note that the former player will need to be comfortable with what is being asked of them, and the time commitments required, but we are happy to share contaxct details for all three.

Working Group Questions

Thank you for the suggestion, this is something that can be considered as part of the wider ticketing consultation process.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately we are not able to allow STHs to visit different areas - technically and logistically this would be a challenge. We might look at longer term seat licenses in some areas in due course.

As mentioned in the recent Fan Engagement meeting, the club remains committed to redeveloping the North Stand.

Discussions around timelines and the impact on existing season ticket and hospitality guests currently located within the North Stand will be communicated at the earliest opportunity.

We believe, when in a position to do so, our plans for the North Stand will be positively received.

The club were working with a third party who provides a range of services for our membership product, including the provision of packs. The club terminated that agreement earlier in the season and the relationship will now end in May this year. Unfortunately as part of the process, the packs were delayed and will now be delivered in March. This has been communicated to members and we are sorry for the delay.

The club is working on a new structure and plans for our wider membership and loyalty programme that will launch in July - as soon as we've fully developed the plans this will be presented to the FAB.

SLO will raise this with the team responsible and feedback ASAP. We are also working to partner with a British Sign Language (BSL) interpretor to work matchdays so that BSL can be shown on the screen alongside the stadium announcer.

Thank you for the feedback. We will pass the comments on to Levy.

The catering partner and all of our pouring rights partners take all necessary precautions around the quality of the beer and cider, and it certainly wasn't a case of the beer being left longer than the prescribed amount of time from previous games.

Having said that, the catering team are investigating to understand what might have happened and ensure it doesn't happen at future games.

We are happy to discuss and engage with the Culture Group on this topic. Naturally the external designs have now been finalised, but we welcome thoughts on internal finishes once the time arises.

It goes without saying that all elements of the design, both external and internal, will respect the club's history and heritage.

The club continually monitors events such as the one mentioned, and all Premier League clubs regularly discuss sensitive topics within smaller groups, as well as league-wide.

In this case, there has been no formal advice/directive from the Premier League and as far as we are not aware of any club(s) having removed themselves from this platform.

As it stands, we have no plans to come off X/Twitter but will continue to monitor this topic.
