Hanson wins WSL Goal of the Month award

Kirsty Hanson’s spectacular strike against West Ham United has been named the Women’s Super League Goal of the Month for October.

The forward got off the mark in style for the season as she let of a left-footed rocket through the box and into the far top right-hand corner of goal.

Hanson had set up the goal herself, playing a quick one-two with Lynn Wilms from a corner kick.

As Wilms roled the ball back to the Scotland international, Hanson blasted a first-time shot from just inside the area into the back of the net.

Hanson beat out five other strikes to collect the prize.

Anna Sandberg (Manchester United), Wieke Kaptein (Chelsea), Chloe Kelly (Arsenal), Keira Walsh (Chelsea) and fellow Villan Lynn Wilms were all also nominated for the award for their great strikes.
