Josh Feeney and Louie Barry debuted for their respective loan clubs, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United, over the weekend.

Feeney missed the Terriers’ first game of the League One season last week through suspension, while Barry started in the Blades’ first game of the Championship campaign, playing an hour of their 4-1 defeat at home to Bristol City.

There were differing fortunes for Feeney, however, who came off the bench 29 minutes from time as Town travelled to Reading.

With the score locked at 0-0, not only did the defender help preserve a clean sheet for Lee Grant’s side, they also netted two late goals to seal a 2-0 victory and remain top of the League One table.

In League Two, Fin Munroe bagged his first assist for Swindon Town in their thrilling 3-2 victory at home to Cambridge United, swinging a cross onto the head of Darren Oldaker to put the Robins 3-1 ahead.

Munroe, operating at left-wing-back, started and played 88 minutes, as did Tommi O’Reilly for Crewe Alexandra, who recorded a 2-0 victory at home to Accrington Stanley.

Elsewhere in the third tier, Sil Swinkels helped Exeter City to their first win of the season, playing 90 minutes in an emphatic 4-1 win over Blackpool.

And in the National League North, there were senior debuts on the opening day for both Sam Lewis and I-Lani Edwards, after the pair recently completed respective loan moves to Oxford City and Hereford.

Goalkeeper Lewis played 90 minutes between the sticks in a 3-2 defeat at AFC Fylde, while Edwards came off the bench for the final 33 minutes of the Bulls’ 2-0 loss at Spennymoor Town.
