Rémi Garde worked with his players hard on the eve of this weekend's West Brom game and reiterated that confidence is now high heading into the derby.

Garde admitted in past press conferences that spirits were low due to a long losing streak, which stretched to seven league matches on his arrival.

Now, following four games unbeaten, he says belief is back - and there is a determination to win the big local encounter on Saturday.

He told the media: "There is more belief, for sure.

"We earned four points against very good teams - Palace and Leicester.

"This is good for the players and for the team.

"I want us to keep this momentum, this way of playing and this way of fighting.

"I expect a lot more of that, for sure not less than that. We should be able to do it again."

On the injury front, as the players worked on their games ahead of the Albion encounter, there was news on Gabby Agbonlahor, Carlos Sanchez and Alan Hutton.

Agbonlahor and Sanchez face late fitness tests on their hip and hamstring issues, making the pair doubtful.

Right-back Hutton has been ruled out after failing to recover from the hamstring problem that has plagued him over the last few weeks.

Despite this news, Garde is confident three points can be collected at The Hawthorns.
