Paul Lambert would love Gabby Agbonlahor to return to the goal trail against Manchester United - although he has been pleased with forward's all-round contribution this term.
Agbonlahor has continued to operate in a wide position this season as part of a three-pronged Villa attack.
And although the 28-year-old has only found the net on three occasions, Lambert feels he has still brought plenty to the table.
The Villa boss believes the Erdington-born striker's game has evolved with age.
"When we first came in here I'd seen Gabby playing wide anyway so I knew what he could do," said Lambert.
"His speed is a big asset to him and to us.
"He is only in his mid-20s at the minute but as he gets older I'm sure the experience of playing wide will help him so he knows how to do that, as well as play through the middle."
But Lambert admits it would be great to see Agbonlahor go on a goalscoring run - both for the team and the individual.
"If he can create them it will make everyone happy," added the manager.
"But I think he gets in good positions and he could maybe score a few.
"It would be great for us and for him if he could score a few on that side of it as well.
"If he gets a chance on Saturday then hopefully he will score."
