Paul Lambert was over-the-moon after seeing his side turn over table-toppers Chelsea.
Lambert was hugely impressed with the "hunger, desire, ability and belief" of his players as they clocked up a thoroughly deserved victory in B6.
He said: "I thought we were outstanding.
"We were well worthy of winning game. The whole team - to a man - were absolutely outstanding.
"And they had to be because Chelsea are a right top side.
"They are vying to win the Barclays Premier League and they're vying to win the Champions League. Their team has cost millions to build while we've only been here less than two seasons.
"Our own team were brilliant, really good. We were fantastic to a man. Every one of them. They are a young group who were brilliant.
"All the lads were terrific. I don't think it's fair to single out an individual. It was a massive team performance.
"I knew it was going to be tough. We did a lot of work. Their energy levels were high. They had to do that.
"Their hunger and desire, the ability, the belief was just fantastic."
Lambert was thrilled for Fabian Delph as the dynamic midfielder scored a wonder goal to win the game.
He continued: "I thought the goal was fantastic.
"He starts it himself. He puts Marc in. The cutback from Marc is terrific.
"But he has that flick in his locker, things like that.
"It was a world-class finish. And he's done it against a goalkeeper in Petr Cech that's been one of the best in Europe for a long time."
Lambert also spoke of his awe at the atmosphere in Villa Park for the wonder win.
He added: You need the crowd to be on your side, in good times and bad times. That will bring you through.
"The stadium was rocking. When you get it like that, it's great."
