Norwich v Villa pre-match show: Staunton the star guest

Steve Staunton is the star guest on this week's pre-match show.

Staunton joins us at the prestigious Belfry to preview the big-match against the Canaries.

Check out the preview programme on AVTV.

It was the Villa Golf Day on Tuesday and Staunton chatted about Villa before heading out on to the fairways alongside the likes of Ken McNaught, Des Bremner, Brian Little, John Deehan, Eric Lichaj and Barry Bannan.

Staunton tells us about his admiration for Villa's attacking threat - posed by Christian Benteke, Andi Weimann and Gabby Agbonlahor - and how he thinks they will score goals at Carrow Road.

But he also called for the defensive unit to continue their mean streak in the penultimate away clash of the season on Saturday.

Staunton picks out the fan support as another crucial element which will help Villa emerge victorious on their travels in East Anglia.

Villa's left-back/centre-back also talks through a vital goal he scored against Norwich in 1994-95, a header which guaranteed Premier League safety.

Little and Deehan - a lethal strike force in the 1970s - joined forces again to talk about all things Villa from the world-famous golf resort in Warwickshire.

They talk about Benteke and Agbonlahor and the buzz created by the dramatic 6-1 win over Sunderland. In what seems to be an ex-players special, we also catch up with former midfielder Lee Hendrie.

Hendrie admits he's thrilled with the win over Sunderland and fully expects the lads to follow it up on Saturday.

He talks of his delight for the fans who follow the team home and away, singing their hearts out for the lads.

Matt Lowton also joins us and recalls the fantastic 4-1 win at Norwich in the Capital One Cup quarter final.

He hopes for a repeat this weekend after the confidence-lifting victory over Sunderland.

But he says the boys will be keeping their feet on the ground ahead of the clash.

There's also footage of Eric Lichaj, Enda Stevens, Barry Bannan, Sid Cowans, Ken McNaught and Des Bremner tackling the tough Brabazon course.

As Staunton is our special guest, we close things off with a montage of his goals scored for Villa.
