Umit Eminoglu bagged his third goal of the campaign while Charlie Ward was also on target in a deserved victory for Villa's young guns.

Turkish forward Eminoglu capitalised on a poor defensive header from a Newcastle defender to put the claret and blues ahead in the first half.

And after the break Ward arrived on the edge of the box to side-foot home a right-wing cutback.

Coach Tony McAndrew felt his team were good value for the three points - particularly after their first-half performance.

"In the first half we played some great stuff and got out of the starting gate really quick," he said.

"We dominated the first half and deserved to go in a goal in front.

"Umit has done well for us. He works hard and has lovely technique for a big guy.

"Since we've started him and have done some work with him it has paid dividends.

"He is working hard and linking things for us really well."

The U18s are away to Ipswich in the Barclays Premier Academy League next Saturday [ko 11am].
