We announced the signing of Sarah Mayling on July 2, 2021. The 24-year-old re-joined the Club having spent the previous four-and-a-half seasons at Birmingham City.

Mayling operates up and down the right-hand side, and received the Players’ Player of the Season award at City following the 2020/21 campaign. Mayling, a lifelong Villa fan, has also represented England at Under-17s level through to their Under-23s.

Our no.2 marked her return to the club by scoring a stunning free-kick in an opening day win over Leicester City and went on to be mainstay at right-back that term as she racked up 25 appearances across all competitions.

Mayling went on to make 57 appearances the following two seasons (2022/23 and 2023/24) and is still remains a prominent figure in the side as well as being a fan favourite.
