Bio
We announced the permanent signing of Kirsty Hanson in the summer of 2023 following a successful loan spell for the former Manchester United player.
The Scotland international joined ahead of the 22/23 campaign and became a standout player in the side, scoring eight goals and recording 10 assists in Villa colours.
Hanson continued to be a prominent figure for Villa during the 23/24 season making a further 22 appearances as she reached 50 in all competitions in the claret and blue.
The powerful forward got off the mark for the 24/25 season in the side's 2-0 Women's League Cup win over Crystal Palace back in October.
Hanson's goal in the final stage of the 24/25 campaign helped Villa secure a sixth place finish as she bagged back-to-back match-winners away to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 27-year-old also went on to win the club's Goal of the Season award for her thundering first-half strike in a 5-2 victory over Arsenal at Villa Park in April 2025.
Hanson penned a new contract with the club ahead of the 25/26 season, keeping her at Villa Park until the summer of 2027, and she picked up from where she had left off the previous campaign.
The Scotland international bagged her first goal of the season in a 2-0 victory away to West Ham United, with the rocket also being named the WSL Goal of the Month for October.
She went on to bagged a further four league goals before the winter break and she didn't slow down as the season got back underway at the start of 2026.
A goal in Villa's opening game of the new year helped the side to a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Villa Park and see her sit second in the league's goal scoring charts.
Hanson is also a key figure on the international stage having made over 45 appearances for Scotland in addition to scoring five goals.
