Aston Villa announced the signing of Lino Sousa from Arsenal in February 2024. The youngster immediately headed out on loan to Plymouth Argyle, making eight appearances in the Championship. 

The left-sided defender, born in Lisbon, Portugal, has represented England at every age group between Under-15s and Under-19s.

He had previously joined the Gunners from the West Bromwich Albion academy, and while in North London, was involved with the first team set-up, being named on the substitutes’ bench on multiple occasions. 

The summer of 2024 saw him join Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan. While with the Gas throughout 2024/25, Sousa made 29 appearances in all competitions for the League One outfit.
