Bio

Samuel Iling Jr returned to England with Aston Villa in July 2024, ending a four-year stay at Juventus.

After nine years in Chelsea’s Academy, the London native headed for Italy and worked his way into the senior set-up.

Possessing great athletic and technical ability, Iling Jr made 45 appearances for Juve, winning the Coppa Italia in one of his final outings for the club.

His first season in B6 was spent out on loan, with two separate spells both in England and overseas. First, he returned to Italy, spending the first half of 2024/25 with Bologna. He made 16 appearances for I Rossoblù, scoring twice, including on his debut, and played against Unai Emery's side at Villa Park in October's Champions League clash.

A move back to home soil for the remainder of the campaign saw him link up with Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough in the Championship, where he scored once and registered two assists in 16 appearances, which largely came from a left-back berth.

He’s also shined at age-group level with England, winning the European Under-19 Championship in 2022. He has two goals in 16 appearances at Under-21 level, and was a part of the squad which lifted the European Under-21 Championship trophy for the second-successive time in the summer of 2023, playing twice throughout the tournament.
