Jordan Amavi is a huge favourite with the Villa fans – despite not being able to play that many games in claret and blue.
Classy Amavi showed adventure and charisma down the left side as he emerged as an impressive summer signing.
He was close to being an ever-present in those early stages until injury hit hard.
Amavi damaged his right knee while away with France U21s in November 2015 and he wasn’t seen again in the strip for the rest of the season.
He spoke to the official website in the New Year to spell out his admiration for the fans, who had supported him through his injury spell with kind words on social media.
Amavi, in total, played 12 times for Villa in 2015/16.
He is now back in very light training as he looks ahead to a more fruitful 2016/17 campaign.
The Toulon-born left-back joined Villa in July 2015.
