Gabby Agbonlahor had a difficult season in claret and blue during 2015/16.
He was appointed club captain at the beginning of the campaign but by the end of the term he had relinquished the role after what he accepted had been a tough period in his career.
Agbonlahor, the club’s longest-serving member of the squad, began the season in the starting line-up, figuring in the opening three fixtures against Bournemouth, Man Utd and Crystal Palace.
But injury was to plague him throughout the season, with Eric Black putting the forward on a special fitness plan in the closing months of the campaign.
He came back into contention late on but failed to make another appearance as relegation hit.
Agbonlahor’s only goal of the season came in the 2-0 win over Norwich in February 2016.
However, he is the club's record goalscorer in the Premier League.
He achieved this in the 6-1 win over Sunderland in April 2013 - hitting his 61st claret and blue goal to overtake Dwight Yorke.
He is a product of Villa's academy - and made his first-team debut in March 2006 following loans to Football League clubs Watford and Sheffield Wednesday.
The then 19-year-old scored, too, but Villa went down 4-1 at Everton.
Since then, he has made over 300 top-flight appearances for the club - and has scored goals in 10 successive seasons at the club.
Agbonlahor made his senior international debut for England in 2008 and has earned three caps.
Other memorable moments for Agbonlahor include being ambassador for club charity Acorns and playing for Villa in the FA Cup final of 2015 and the League Cup final of 2010.
Agbonlahor is also seen as a derby hero - having scored a host of goals in games against Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion.
