Bio
Ezri Konsa joined from Brentford in 2019, hot on the heels of Aston Villa’s promotion back to the Premier League. The defender made his debut for the club in the Carabao Cup against Crewe Alexandra in August 2019.
Capable of playing at full-back and centre-back, Konsa established himself alongside Tyrone Mings at the heart of Villa's defence in the 2020/21 campaign. Konsa made 36 Premier League appearances, scoring twice, as he helped the club keep 15 clean sheets in the top flight.
The classy centre-back was a mainstay of the defence once again in 2021/22, playing 31 times as he closed in on 100 appearances for the club. Konsa reached a century of appearances for Villa on the opening day of the 2022/23 season against Bournemouth before going on to feature in every Premier League game during 22/23.
Konsa signed a new long-term contract with the club in September 2023 and his consistent displays were rewarded with his first call-up to England's senior squad in November, with his Three Lions debut coming against Brazil in March 2024.
The defender was duly named in England's squad for Euro 2024, his first major international tournament, making three appearances en route to the final against Spain.
Konsa made his 200th appearance for Villa during the 2024/25 campaign, enjoying a total of 50 outings in all competitions and finding the net against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
The London native rose through the ranks at Charlton, making 86 appearances for the Addicks before moving across to Brentford. Konsa has also been capped by England at Under-20 and Under-21 level.
