Carles Gil’s highlights in 2015/16 were two wonder goals.
The Spaniard bagged one against Leicester in September 2015 and a scorcher at Sunderland in January 2016.
Gil was rarely absent throughout the campaign as he made just under 30 appearances in all competitions in claret and blue.
The Spaniard is no stranger to classy strikes, either.
He made a fast start to his career in B6 after joining in January 2015.
The attacking midfielder, who can operate on either flank or behind a striker, propelled himself into claret and blue consciousness with a wonder goal in the 2-1 home win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round - his second game for the club.
Following the final day encounter with Burnley, Gil's fantastic effort against the Cherries was confirmed as goal of the season.
Gil is a product of the youth system at Valencia, his home city, and made his senior debut for their B team in 2009 as a 17-year-old.
He was loaned to Valencian neighbours Elche for two seasons, helping them secure promotion to La Liga in 2012/13 and then playing a key role alongside his Villa team-mate Carlos Sanchez as they retained their status in the top-flight for the first time in more than 40 years in 2013/14.
