Boubacar Kamara enjoyed a fine first season at Aston Villa after joining from Marseille in May 2022.

The midfielder's classy style of play and calmness on the ball made him a mainstay of the team during his debut campaign as a Villan. 

Kamara made his Villa bow when he started against AFC Bournemouth on the opening day of the 2022/23 Premier League season, going on to make 26 appearances.

His first goal for the club came in a Carabao Cup tie against Everton in September 2023, although his 2023/24 campaign was cut short in February as he suffered a significant knee ligament injury.

Kamara returned to action in October and went on to enjoy 42 appearances in all competitions in 2024/25, netting his first Premier League goal against Tottenham Hotspur in May, and was rewarded with a new long-term contract in July 2025, keeping him at Villa Park until 2030. 

The midfielder joined Marseille at the age of five and went on to make 170 appearances before opting to move to the Midlands. Kamara brought European experience from his time at the French side having featured in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

Having appeared for France at a host of international youth levels, he made his senior debut for Les Bleus in June 2022.
