Bertrand Traoré returned to English football with Aston Villa in September 2020.

During his first season in Villa colours, Traoré scored eight goals in 38 games across all competitions. Injuries halted his progress in the 2021/22 campaign, restricting him to ten appearances. 

The Burkina Faso international spent the first half of the 2022/23 season at Istanbul Basaksehir before returning in January and scoring two crucial goals as Villa finished seventh in the Premier League. 

The forward spent four years at Chelsea from 2013-2017, making 16 appearances for the Blues and scoring four goals. While in West London, Traoré enjoyed productive loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and Ajax before he moved to Lyon. 

The skilful winger has also had success on the international stage, helping his country to a third-place finish at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
