On this day in 1932, Jimmy Dugdale was born in Liverpool.
Dugdale had the distinction of winning the FA Cup with two different West Midlands clubs.
He was in the West Brom side that beat Preston 3-2 in the 1954 final and three years later he helped Villa to a 2-1 Wembley victory over Manchester United.
The dependable central defender had moved from The Hawthorns to Villa Park for £25,000 in February 1956 and went on to make 255 appearances for the club.
He was also a member of the Villa side that won the inaugural League Cup in 1961.
