Villa Ladies travel to Everton for their WSL 2 season opener this evening and head coach Joe Hunt can't wait to get started.
The match takes place at Widnes' Select Security Stadium, kick-off 7.30pm.
Since returning for pre-season in January, the claret and blues have been working tirelessly on the training fields and are already reaping their rewards.
Victory over tonight's opponents in their SSE Women's FA Cup fifth round tie on Sunday set up a mouthwatering quarter-final with Chelsea while their performances in warm-up games have impressed.
Yet, Hunt is adamant last weekend's clash will have little bearing on their latest meeting against a side many tip for promotion this time out.
He said: "It's here at last!
"80 days of pre-season have been and gone, but it seems a long time ago when we came back in January.
"But credit to the ladies, they have applied themselves exceptionally well in all the sessions and are ready for what the season throws at us.
"The staff have been outstanding as well.
"Our head of medical Andy Frampton has co-ordinated the non-football sessions with sports scientist George Farmer and given the ladies some great support.
"Now it's time to get on with it.
"Everton away is probably the hardest game you could get given for the league opener.
"They are a very good team and will be right up there when things get decided.
"The FA Cup game will have no bearing on this match.
"Both teams gave it a good go and we managed to find the breakthrough.
"Andy Spence and his team will be highly motivated for the game but I can also say our girls are raring to go.
"It was tough on Wednesday night to see all the other teams kick off their season, but the wait is over now.
"It's game day!"
Don't forget Villa Ladies' first home match against Oxford United Women takes place this Sunday at Sutton Coldfield Town's Coles Lane, kick-off 2pm.
