Training pictures: Rudy Gestede returns amid Potters preparations

Rudy Gestede was back at Bodymoor Heath as he geared up for the Stoke City clash.

Gestede has been absent since pulling up with a hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw with West Brom at The Hawthorns.

With Jordan Ayew suspended and Libor Kozak also injured these past few weeks, Rémi Garde's options have been severly limited in the forward positions.

So the return of Gestede will offer a big boost to the manager as he looks to go on the attack at the Britannia Stadium.

Gestede has scored five goals this season, four in the Barclays Premier League and the winner against Birmingham City in the League Cup.

Gabby Agbonlahor - the only fit and available striker in recent times - is also ready for the Potters clash.

The long-serving forward, who has been plagued with fitness issues this term, has recovered from the bout of vertigo that forced him off against Liverpool in the previous game.

Garde was out on the training fields alongside assistant boss Reginald Ray, first team coach Eric Black and fitness coach Robert Duverne.

Villa lost the home clash against the Potters - managed by Mark Hughes - 1-0, the only goal scored by Marko Arnautovic in November 2015.

We'll be looking to enjoy our own away day success this time around.
