Jordan Veretout has called for the team to "put pride back in the badge" this weekend.
Villa face Stoke on Saturday following a painful 6-0 defeat to the Reds.
Veretout discussed the way forward for the claret and blues.
He said: "We were all very frustrated with the performance against Liverpool.
"No-one was happy with that defeat - players, fans, staff. We didn't play well at all and we got well beaten.
"Now we're looking to come back strong at the Britannia Stadium.
"We know we have to put in a positive display this weekend against a good Stoke side, who have been doing well this season.
"The lads are determined to put the pride back in the badge and show everyone - including our supporters, who have backed us all season - what we are capable of.
"We have to show that fight, spirit and belief - that was definitely there in the games before Liverpool.
"We know we're in a bad position in the table but we're going to battle for every point and see where that takes us.
"We're all very aware that it's a tough challenge but we've not given up on getting over the line and staying up.
"To do that, we need to start putting in really good performances - and we're looking for our good run to start on Saturday."
