Rémi Garde says that Gabby Agbonlahor offers "different qualities" to his other strikers.
Agbonlahor's key asset is his pace and Garde says that gives him other options in the forward line, especially with Libor Kozak and Jordan Ayew ruled out against Liverpool and Rudy Gestede a real doubt.
He said: "Gabby has different qualities to Jordan Ayew, Libor Kozak and Rudy Gestede.
"They are all different players. For sure, Gabby is the one who is the most attracted by the goal.
"The way he runs inside the pitch is different from the other players.
"He likes to go behind the defensive line, which is very difficult to defend against because he stretches the opponent and sometimes he receives the ball because he moves well.
"Even if he doesn't receive the ball, the way he runs, dips and creates spaces behind him for the players is very important."
Garde is very happy to have Agbonlahor available again, after discussing his lack of action in the early months of his time as boss.
He added: "The situation is very simple for me. Gabby has suffered many injuries since I came to the club.
"He had a calf problem initially, which is always difficult to treat and takes a long time to return from.
"Then he had a little problem with his back. His problem was mainly missing training sessions.
"Then, as soon as he could have one or two weeks of training sessions, you can see his qualities as a striker.
"He has been here for a long time. He's a top goalscorer for Villa for a long time, I know he is very important."
