Aly Cissokho sat down with the official website this week to look ahead to the Liverpool clash this weekend.

Check out his thoughts below.

On making his debut for Liverpool in 2013 at Villa Park…

It was my first game with Liverpool - it was here at Villa and now I'm here.

Of course, it was special - and it will great this weekend.

It is going to be a good moment for me to face my former club.

I have some friends who still play there and it will be good to play against them.

I hope we are going to win this game because we need the points.

It is a home game so we are going to have the fans with us.

Playing here for my debut in English football was a good memory.

I remember I was surprised about the stadium, the fans and the atmosphere. I was like a child!

I'd played in big games before but it is always special to play in Villa Park.

The stadium this coming week is going to be packed and it is always great to play in that environment.

On Christian Benteke's return to B6 with the Reds…

For Christian it is going to be special because he had good games here.

He scored a lot of goals and it is going to be an important moment for him.

But I hope he is not going to score and we are going to stop him.

We know he is a good striker but it's not just about him - they have good players throughout their squad.

I am sure he is going to be very excited to play against us so we will try our best to keep him out.

On Roberto Firmino's good form for Liverpool…

He is a good player - a Brazil international.

I've seen some games and he has got very good quality and technique.

It is going to be a tough match for us because they have good players like Coutinho, Lallana, Henderson, Milner - many good players.

They have big options on the bench as well.

We have to be focused on the game and we need points. We will play for a win.

On being back in the back four for Villa…

In the last few games, this defence has been good.

We have had good games in the past few weeks.

It was good to have this clean sheet against Norwich and in these games we've got to know a lot about each other.

On the impact of Gabby Agbonlahor…

It was a good goal against Norwich - a real fine finish.

I am happy for Gabby because he's a good guy and good player.

We need him - especially as players like Libor Kozak, Jordan Ayew and Rudy Gestede have not been with us.

Against Norwich, he did his job brilliantly - and he worked hard for the team at West Ham too.

He fought hard for the team. We need a player like this.

He has scored a lot of important goals here in the past - and he can do it again.

He has played here many, many years. He gives a lot to this club.

His experience brings stability to the team.

On Idrissa Gana…

It is his first year in the Barclays Premier League and this season has not been easy.

But I think he does the job well and he is getting better.

He will have experience with games.

Next season he will have more experience of English football.

He has a lot of energy, good technique and he brings stability.

He has aggression. He is small but he is very good physically and he is a good player.

I'm happy to play with this kind of player.
