Rémi Garde says his players are eyeing a "big boost" this weekend in the survival fight.

Villa are 10 points behind Norwich City as they face the Canaries in B6 on Saturday.

Victory would claw us back a little closer and Garde says he and his players are fully focused on that ahead of the game.

Garde was in confident mood in his pre-match press conference before heading out and working with his players on the fields of Bodymoor Heath.

He knows that some have written his team off - but he says there's still belief in camp to pull off the greatest of great escapes.

He told the media: "As long as it's not too late, we will rely on this spell of results that could allow us to close the gap between us and the good zone in the table.

"Winning this Norwich game would be a big boost.

"For us, they are 10 points ahead of us. We could close the gap a little and put pressure on them.

"I am focused on scoring goals and winning matches - hopefully starting this weekend.

"We could come back to seven points behind them and that would be a big boost for us."

In team news, Libor Kozak and Rudy Gestede are ruled out but Ashley Westwood could be back.

With an absence of strikers, Garde could rely on fit-again Gabby Agbonlahor, describing his return performance at West Ham as "interesting."
