Idrissa Gana: Let's continue to play with confidence

Idrissa Gana hopes Villa's newfound confidence will come to the fore this afternoon.

Villa face Man City in a mouthwatering B6 FA Cup fourth round clash, kick-off 3pm

After a difficult 2015/16 campaign thus far, the claret and blues are unbeaten in their last five outings - conceding just two goals in the process.

Solid as a unit and pleasing on the eye when attacking, Gana has been a key figure having deputised in the holding role the absence of fellow midifleder Carlos Sanchez - and netted his first Villa goal in the 2-0 third round replay win over Wycombe.

And he can't wait to step out and in what's sure to be Villa's toughest test of their new year fixtures to date.

He told ATVD HD: "We play Man City - we know it's an important game.

"We have to win. We're at home with our supporters.

"We know if they push with us we can win this game.

"We were good last time we played against them.

"In the end it was tough but we took a point.

"We know they're a big team. It will not be easy.

"We have more confidence - for five games we haven't lost.

"We played well as a team and we must continue like that."
