Preview: Villa U21 v Fulham U21

Our youngsters play their second match this week - hosting Fulham at Bodymoor Heath this afternoon.

Kick-off is 1pm.

They earned the derby bragging rights with a last-gasp 3-2 win at Wolves on Monday - Jerell Sellars' 91st-minute leveller cancelling out Tommy Rowe's goal to make it two apiece.

It was the young lions' third win in five matches.

With five wins, two draws and five defeats in their Barclays U21 Premier League Division Two matches to date, the Londoners have had an indifferent campaign - they currently lie ninth in the congested lower-mid table region.

The Cottagers and Villans played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Motspur Park back in November.

The claret and blues took the lead after half an hour - Harry McKirdy slipped in the impressive Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and he finished well beyond Magnus Norman.

However, the Londoners were level just three minutes later - Mattias Kait slamming the ball home after his initial shot was saved.

The visitors restored their advantage in first half stoppage time - forwards Hepburn-Murphy and McKirdy combining with the former setting up the latter this time around.

But Jordan Evans fired home a fine free-kick on 65 minutes to equalise for a second time.
