Rudy Gestede is keen to see local bragging rights return to B6 as Villa gear up for Saturday's match at West Brom.
The claret and blues make the short trip to The Hawthorns unbeaten in four across all competitions and in search of crucial Barclays Premier League points.
Gestede was a second half substitute in Villa's frustrating single-goal defeat in the reverse meeting with Tony Pulis' men and he is aware of the tough task his side face.
The forward was the derby hero after netting the only goal in our September Capital One Cup win over Birmingham City at Villa Park.
And the former Blackburn Rovers man says confidence is returning to the Bodymoor camp and believes the high-profile clash has come at a "good time" for the team.
He told AVTV HD: "I think it's coming at a good time. We have confidence
"They beat us at home. Now we're eager to beat them away - and get the three points and keep our run going.
"These derby matches are important games for the fans and for the club. We know that.
"I'm sure it will be a good game on Saturday.
"They are a tough team to beat. And, of course they're going well.
"But we're not afraid of any team so we'll treat it the same as any game.
"We're earning points bit by bit.
"There are a lot of points up for grabs.
"It's easier when you start picking up results. It helps you believe.
"Now we're doing that so our confidence is getting stronger and stronger."
