Aly Cissokho says he's thrilled to be back playing in claret and blue - as he promised to give it everything to help Villa stay up.
Cissokho was loaned out to Porto in the summer for the season.
But Rémi Garde asked him to return this month in the January transfer window after losing Jordan Amavi to a serious knee injury.
Cissokho says it took him "less than a second" to answer the SOS - and now plans to lead the team to safety.
He's certainly loving being back in B6.
He said: "My agent contacted me to say Villa had been in touch and Rémi Garde wanted me to come back.
"It took me less than a second to say yes.
"I was with the gaffer for four years at Lyon - and he was my manager for one season.
"I'm very happy to be back at Villa - very happy to be back in the Premier League - and very happy to be playing again.
"I'm enjoying every minute the gaffer is giving me and I'm giving everything I have back in return.
"This is like a second beginning for me at Villa.
"I was away for six months on loan at Porto.
"I have come back to discover many new players, a new manager - even a new doctor!
"So it is almost like coming to a new club.
"But the pride of playing for a big club like Villa is still the same.
"I will give everything to help the club stay up.
"I was disappointed to be told I could go on loan in the summer. But that's football.
"The gaffer has given me the opportunity to show what I can do and I want to repay him."
