Leandro Bacuna has stressed that this week could be a huge turning point.
Villa are bottom of the top-flight table and 11 points from safety.
But Bacuna believes victories in successive home games against Crystal Palace and Leicester City - on Tuesday and Saturday - could offer hope for the rest of the campaign.
He said: "Palace are doing good at the moment.
"But we're interested in what we're trying to do.
"We have two home games coming up this week now. It could be a turning point for us if we can get that win - a big moment for the team and the players too.
"Obviously we're bottom of the table. We know that. But two victories would be huge for us.
"We're still right in it. If we could win a few games in a row, it could change everything for us and people would look differently at us."
Bacuna stressed that the watchword in the changing room was belief as Villa look to spark a turnaround.
He added: "You always need to have belief. Without it, you will achieve nothing. With it, you can still make it.
"We as a team have to keep going, keep that belief, raise the confidence with a victory and push on.
"One win could transform our season. We are training hard and we must keep doing this and pick up that three points soon.
"We must have that belief in ourselves.
"We are working hard. We must stick together and it will turn around. The group has belief."
