An injury-time goal from Jordan Graham earned Villa a second consecutive draw in the Barclays U21 Premier League.
For the second week running, Gordon Cowans' side battled back to earn a 1-1 draw, this time against Blackburn Rovers.
A point from the clash at Leigh Sports Village was the least the young claret and blues outfit deserved.
The home goalkeeper David Raya made a great near post save to deny Michael Drennan after 12 minutes, before Riccardo Calder's follow-up was deflected over.
Blackburn thought they'd taken the lead on 15 minutes when Dean Rittenberg headed home Modou Cham's cross, only to be flagged offside.
It was Cham who put the hosts ahead on 23 minutes, finishing impressively by lifting the ball over Craig Hill after having an initial effort saved.
But Villa responded well with Callum Robinson firing wide and Graham cutting in from the left before curling a shot just wide of the far post.
Early in the second half, Robinson forced a fine save from Raya after latching on to an inch-perfect Graham pass.
Rittenberg struck the post for Blackburn with a shot on the turn, while the impressive Brad Lewis made a brilliant goalline block to prevent Jordan Preston from scoring.
Graham came agonisingly close to equalising on72 minutes, although Raya got down well to tip away his shot.
The leveller finally arrived in the third minute of stoppage time when Tom Leggett broke free down the right and found Graham who showed great composure to drive past the keeper.
