Andreas Weimann insists Paul Lambert has done some very shrewd summer business - bringing in experienced aces Joe Cole, Philippe Senderos, Kieran Richardson and Aly Cissokho.
Weimann has heaped praise on the boss for his purchases, who all have vast proficiency in the top-flight.
The Austrian ace believes these additions - along with new No.2 Roy Keane - will hold the club in good stead for the coming campaign.
He said "I feel we're developing as players and long may it continue.
"Joe has been at Chelsea for years and won titles for them. Working with him is exciting and you can learn something in training every day from his touch and movement.
"Kieran was at Man Utd and Fulham. He has played loads of games in the Barclays Premier League so, again, you can learn something every day from him.
"Philippe has years and years of playing at the top while Aly was at Lyon and Liverpool so his experience can help us.
"Then there's Roy too, obviously. It's been really good working with him.
"He knows his football having been at Man Utd for years as a player and also as a manager and coach.
"When he gives advice every player takes it on board."
As well as the uplift in experience, the summer pre-season activity has also seen some of the club's promising young talent come to the fore.
Winger Jack Grealish has particularly caught the eye, coming on as a second-half substitute in the home friendly against Parma.
And 23-year-old Weimann feels the future is bright for Villa.
He added: "I was in their position, hoping I'd get a chance.
"Jack has been involved in pre-season, has done really well and spent a lot of time with us and if he gets his chance I'm sure he'll take it."
