Paul Lambert believes he has "a lot of firepower" in forward positions heading into the Stoke game this weekend.
And the Villa boss has also been boosted by the progress of injured strikers Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak, who are ahead of schedule in their fitness fight.
Lambert is relishing welcoming them back but, before that, he's more than happy with the options at his disposal, with the likes of Darren Bent, Charles N'Zogbia, Gabby Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann pushing for a start.
He said: "We have Libor and Christian to come back. We have Darren, we have Gabby and Andi who can play there. I have no worries with any of them.
"Charles is back as well and he's looked great in pre-season so there's a lot of firepower there.
"The competition is certainly hotting up in that area.
"Christian and Libor are not too far away from coming back - they're doing well.
"I don't put a time limit on it because their two injuries were really bad.
"But Christian has started jogging outside so he's doing really well. Libor is doing great too. So another few weeks I think. The international break will certainly help us."
