Villa's development squad suffered their first defeat of pre-season, losing 4-1 to a strong Swindon outfit at the County Ground.
Coach Gordon Cowans was able to call on the services of first team duo Matt Lowton and Joe Bennett for the clash against the League One side, while Callum Robinson also returned following his involvement with the senior side in midweek.
It was Bennett who scored Villa's goal midway through the second half.
The hosts took the lead seven minutes before the break when Louis Thompson made a surging run before firing past Brad Watkins.
On 63 minutes, Ben Gladwin converted a rebound after Watkins parried a stinging shot from Michael Smith.
The visitors pulled one back soon after when a corner was cleared to Bennett who hooked an effort into the net.
Andy Williams was played through on goal on 73 minutes and he calmly slotted across Watkins.
Another Gladwin shot found the bottom corner late on to complete the scoring.
