Villa players swapped our magnificent stadium for another brilliant venue as they visited Dallas Cowboys.

The likes of Jores Okore, Philippe Senderos, Ciaran Clark, Nathan Baker, Gary Gardner and Libor Kozak all received a guided tour of the AT&T Stadium.

Brett Daniels, the club's senior director of corporate communications and brand management, showed the claret and blue contingent around the huge complex.

They got to see the locker rooms, the corporate areas, the stadium bowl and the gigantic club shop, which sells an enormous amount of merchandise.

The AT&T Stadium was completed in May 2009 - and fills up 73 acres or 3m square feet.

Its cost to create totalled $1.5b dollars, which makes it the most expensive sports venue ever built

The retractable roof was designed so the new stadium had the characteristic hole like the former Texas Stadium - in fact, fans joke that the opening is needed because God watches the games.

The domed roof is the largest ever constructed for a sports stadium on the planet while it also boasts the biggest high definition video screen in the world - 160 feet by 72 feet.

The AT&T Stadium has also been used for major concerts, including U2, George Strait and Paul McCartney.

In terms of the franchise itself, the Dallas Cowboys play in the Eastern Division of the National Football League and were established in 1960.

The Dallas Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons - 1966-85 - and have eight Super Bowl appearances, winning five Championships in 1971, 1977, 1992, 1993, and 1995.

Forbes Magazine lists the Cowboys as the highest valued sports franchise in the history of the United States while they are also considered the wealthiest team in the NFL.
