Jores Okore is loving being put through his paces in Texas this week.
Okore believes building an unshakeable base of fitness is the key element of Villa's trip Stateside.
He is relishing getting his body and mind ready for the start of the 2014-15 campaign in claret and blue.
"Our pre-season is going really well. I have been really happy to be out there with the other lads," said Okore.
"It's been so good. We have a great team spirit here and the atmosphere is good. We are really pleased to be together and we're all getting along. It's great.
"It's hard work this time of year. There's a lot of running and it's tough sessions.
"We need to get in shape and that's what we are focusing on right now.
"It's really hard but we are enjoying it. I am certainly enjoying it.
"I am really enjoying this tour of America. It is most important to get in shape and come through pre-season without any injuries and get a lot of football in.
"It's also about coming together as a team and becoming one unit too.
"That's what we're going for - to get in shape and get everything spot on so we are ready for the season.
"Our main focus is the first game of the season."
Okore also spoke of his focus on making a big impact this season for Villa.
He added: "I am 100% determined - in fact, no 1000%.
"That's why I came to this club and that's why I play football. I want to show that potential."
