Paul Lambert has spoken of his delight at the effort and application on show from his players during training in USA.
Sunday saw a light session for the lads but Monday was more intense as they geared up for the two games against FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo.
Lambert was very happy with the determination of the lads - and the way new recruits Joe Cole, Philippe Senderos and Kieran Richardson have settled into the squad.
All three flew out to the States for their first trip away with the claret and blues and the trio have settled in with their new playing pals very well.
Brad Guzan will meet up with them in Houston ahead of the Dynamo game on Saturday.
Lambert said: "The lads have worked hard.
"It's really warm here. It's certainly one of the hottest I have encountered here in the States.
"The session they did on Monday was very pleasing. They have another on Tuesday and then obviously the game on Wednesday.
"You certainly know when you come over to America that you will have a great facility to train in.
"The new boys have been great. We are getting there. Those three lads have definitely added to that. We still have Brad to join us in Houston too."
Lambert is focused on the fitness and football work of training - but he's looking forward to seeing his players in competitive action too.
He added: "They are tough games. They are already into their season.
"But the big thing is the heat factor.
"I have been to many places but they aren't too many places that have been as hot and humid as this."
